EE Magazine Editorial April 2021 – Good-News Happenings from the Next-stage Organizational World

By Lia Aurami for Enlivening Edge Magazine

It’s now the end of April, 2021. How much GOOD news have you been hearing, these last months or even years? We at Enlivening Edge get good news every day, as we are privileged to hear and see what’s happening on the evolving edge of organizational life around the world. We know about a lot of people in a lot of organizations becoming more widely conscious, more humane, more inclusive, with more goodwill.

To lift your mood and inspire you, here are some current good-news clips, things that are happening “as we speak,” breaking news from around the planet of the emerging of a more wonderful world. For every bit of good news here, there are surely 10 more bits we’re not aware of.

Which ones are happening in your world that you can tell others about, via a comment on this Editorial? We’d love to pick up more news about more of the happenings in our emerging ecosystem of next-stage organizational innovators. We will share that news widely through articles about happenings in EE Magazine, through the storytellers featured in our EE Community Conversations, and through posts on our Facebook community,

You’ll notice over the rest of 2021 that fewer of our articles will be “viewpoints” and more will be about happenings, about people creating contributions to the evolution of our ecosystem, about new developments and new frontiers being explored. That’s the “Enlivening Edge” of the wave of expanding planetary consciousness as it moves through human organizational life.

That good news will support us all through the “bad news” and show spots where the emerging wonderful future is establishing itself in our “now.” “The [desirable] future has already arrived; it’s just not very evenly distributed.” Here are some spots where it has arrived.

These are not listed in any particular order.

Teal Around the World has evolved from a single global conference in July 2020 to an annual global conference, plus monthly “Global Teal Meetups” plus a book underway of interviews with next-stage organizational innovators about their experiences. Three regional teams–Europe and Africa, North and South America, and Asia-Australia-India-Russia–have very recently formed to offer regionally-focused monthly Global Teal Meetups.

Want to meet literally hundreds of like-minded, like-hearted passionate folks on the frontier of next-stage of consciousness in organizations? Even if you don’t participate in events, you can find Teal Around the World (and other Teal-related) discussions on LinkedIn and elsewhere. We’re already aware of a number of people who are starting collaborative projects that sprouted from TATW events.

And by the way, EE Magazine will soon have the story of how Teal Around the World started as a conversation within LiveScience AG (an innovatively-operated consulting team) in Switzerland, has now touched hundreds of lives and is ongoing thanks to dozens of volunteers from every continent. That story is also being planned for sharing in a 1st-Thursday EE Community Conversation later this year.

The upcoming online annual Integral European[Global] Conference will also be a “happening place” for discovering others in next-stage consciousness and getting to know them. For example, Marcelo Cardoso from Chile will be speaking on ecosystems of organizations and organizations as ecosystems. Christiane Seuhs-Schoeller will present her pioneering integration of Love, Power, and Purpose. Rob Macleod describes next-stage functioning in schools. Many presentations will be about new consciousness in leadership. Show up and see who might turn out to be significant for you!

The Teal Team is one example of a group of people some of whom started out studying Reinventing Organizations together, then evolved to other projects, and now are consultants and educators of “Teal.” They have produced a guidebook for folks who want to form their own Teal team for collaborating.

Keep your eye on Finland’s “Teal” community for some breaking news including their translation of Reinventing Organizations into Finnish, and more!

Keep your eye also open for the next developments in Japan, whose lively Reinventing Organizations/Teal group will be expanding their activities both within Japan and radiating outward to the world.

Some folks who discovered one another largely through EE’s Community Conversations have gone from being like-hearted colleagues to coalescing into a Community of Practice. That was so valuable they’re opening their group to others who feel the desire to learn from peers and to experience a community of practice around next-stage worklife.

The Reinventing Organizations Wiki is attracting a lot of volunteers who are building upward and outward from the Wiki’s recent “makeover.” They are discovering the joys of working together in service to the global ecosystem of folks implementing Teal tools and practices in organizations. Specifically, they are looking for, and sharing, more “case studies.”

Sociocracy for All has a global conference coming up on May 6, and they have good news that Many Voices One Song, the Sociocracy manual, is now available in both Spanish and Portuguese.

Corporate Rebels Academy is now open, offering a structured way to deep-dive into some specific innovative, more-conscious organizations. Check out other educational opportunities for gaining more of the capacities needed for next-stage organizational functioning at Campus Co-Evolve. And if you’re a “knowledge garden cultivator” there’s fresh soil and seeds awaiting you on part of the campus.

If you like to study comprehensive management theories, Professor Robledo in Spain is now offering you a beautiful experience on the enlivened edge of that section of the global wave.

One example among many of the latest evolution of tools and practices from the enlivened edge is the We-Q team self-diagnosis tool. From EE’s position as a network node with lots of connections, we increasingly see such good-news items.

There now. Feeling in a better mood about the state of the world? Wait, there’s so much more; we could keep going all day! Well, here’s a just bit more to brighten your day with a final smile or two.

Some of the newest good-news books include next-stage organizational stories from Sweden by Lisa Gill (of the-almost-60-interviews Leadermorphosis podcast-series) and Karen Tenelius, plus two books from Brent Lowe, Susan Basterfield, and Travis Marsh who started out as colleagues, evolved into writing some books together and are now actively exploring their next adventures together: (in 2020) Lead Together – The Bold, Brave, Intentional Path to Scaling Your Business, and (in 2017) Reinventing Scale-ups: Radical Ideas for Growing Companies.

What inspiring happenings–large or small–point to the good news in your part of the world, about the next stage of consciousness in organizations? Enlivening Edge is eager to hear from you so we can spread the good news far and wide.

Good news provides us all with the emotional fuel to keep on innovating. That is a joyful expression of Enlivening Edge’s Evolutionary Purpose: catalyzing relationships among innovators who are accelerating the evolution of organizations and social systems for human and environmental thriving.
