This Editorial is going to be short and to the point. It’s going to express Enlivening Edge’s Evolutionary Purpose in a new context. Our evolutionary purpose is stated as
Catalyzing relationships among innovators who are accelerating the evolution of organizations and social systems for human and environmental thriving.
The past few years have been very different from previous years, for most people. To one degree or another, it seems as if many are discouraged, confused, disoriented, weary, apathetic, apprehensive, or disengaged. They have no understanding, no control. They can’t find the energy to get involved in things, sometimes even if they sense they might benefit.
Yet some people are optimistic, encouraged, clear, oriented to the present and the future, energized and enthusiastic, centered, grounded, resilient, eagerly anticipating, generating understanding and control as much as possible in our lives. We have an inner momentum that guides us to choose the involvements that will support us.
Looking out at the world, there is plenty going on which justifies either set of feelings. Looking inward at ourselves, some of us are finding inner resources we didn’t know we had, while others are finding the inner well is dry.
Finding keys or flowers amidst the rocks
Whatever your mixture of these states and feelings, if you want more of the latter, one of the best ways is to connect with people who have those good and beneficial states and feelings–not from denial or blind positivity, but from having inner resources and seeing the sprouts of a better future coming up around them.
What is Enlivening Edge doing to help catalyze such connections or even relationships for you, to help you find people who are uplifting and inspiring when you need a lift and some light?
Our Magazine articles help, in that all the authors are sharing what has worked for them, how they’ve gotten past their challenges, and what bridges they are building toward a positive future.
Far more directly, we help with our twice-a-month EE Community Conversations. These are safe and warm online direct-talking spaces. People share deeply and uplift one another, related to their work as organizational innovators and in their wholeness as people. Even those who arrive discouraged say they leave feeling not only a sense of belonging, but a sense of renewed optimism, restored courage, regenerated enthusiasm, and support from others.
Why not show up and experience these special islands of sanity, positivity, authenticity, and goodwill? They can support you in accelerating the evolution of organizations and social systems toward human and environmental thriving, by helping you thrive, or at least stay up in a down world.
Start by subscribing to notifications, so you can receive information and access for each conversation. Conversations are first and third Thursdays, 90 minutes starting at 10:00 AM Pacific time.
No advance preparation, come as you are. Be ready to co-create the special magic people experience in these conversations. We make room for discouragement and anxiety, because these get transmuted by the warmth and realistically empowering attitudes of others.
Another uplifting space: Future of Work Conference
There are other places to find uplifting, inspiring people doing great things.
At the upcoming global Future of Work 24 Hours unconference this May, they ask the core calling question, “what are the unimagined possibilities in our future of work?”
“Somewhere over the rainbow there is a bright future just waiting for us to imagine it. What becomes possible when those who dare to dream the unimaginable dream together?” They’re inviting us to see beyond the horizons of the possible on May 12 and 13, 2022.
Sleepwalking more of the same won’t get us to any “there” that inspires the world. So what is the Future of Work that stirs your heart and makes you want to move your feet towards it? Bring your hopes, wishes and fantasies to the Future of Work 24 hours!
It will feature 5 open space circles spanning 24 hours – join as often as you wish by registering here: https://bit.ly/FoW24hrs. Enlivening Edge is happy to be an ecosystem sponsor of this event.
Yet another upcoming uplifting space, EE will be there
Prof. Marco Robledo of Spain, one of our EE Magazine authors, is moderating a panel on “Integral Business”.(which is the same kind of consciousness as Teal organizations) for the 2022 annual Integral Practitioner Convergence. He has invited me to be a panelist. The panel will be 75 minutes, on May 6, starting 11:00 AM Pacific time.

So that’s it, short and sweet, with the emphasis on sweet. See you there!
